The BIg Read - Every war defines itself through the literature it produces. Perhaps no writer better defined the character of the Vietnam War than Tim O'Brien. In O'Brien's work, the feeling of senselessness about the war, the drudgery of warfare, the close comaraderie of men in combat, and the fragile boundary between the real and the fantastic are woven together as defining themes for the Vietnam War. Presentation by Prof. Tom Prasch, Washburn University. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. @ Dorothy Bramlage Public Library 230 W. 7th Street, Junction City.
